Julia Liberman is a Certified Member of the Appraisers Association of America (AAA) and an Accredited Senior Appraiser of the American Society of Appraisers (ASA). She received a Master’s Degree in Art History from Hunter College and a Certificate in Fine and Decorative Arts Appraisal from Pratt Institute.
Ms. Liberman has been a practicing appraiser for 15 years. Prior to launching JL Fine Art Appraisal, she was Senior Fine Art Appraiser at one of Manhattan's oldest and most established appraisal firms.
Ms. Liberman's experience ranges from appraising single masterpieces worth in the tens of millions for ultra-high-net-worth collectors to canvasing entire residences with sweeping and varied collections. She has valued artists' estates having works numbered in the thousands and museum collections of singular historical items.
Having conducted extensive work for major fine art insurers, Ms. Liberman holds particular expertise in the appraisal of damaged artwork and provides comprehensive advisory in the context of insurance claims.
